FY07 CLOSING

Well, its that time of the year again. where we make our new year resolutions. where we wish for a better year ahead. yup, i really wish that next year will be my best year yet. it is the year where my(our) project 138 will commence. it will open a new chapter in my life.

dont know whether it will impact my life dramatically, but i can see that there will be challenges in front of me. i just have to take it on the chin n face all those obstacles in achieving my goal for next year.

well goodbye to 2007. i will miss u. because its the year where i really felt sumting which i never thought possible. i always thought that its not gonna happen to me anyways. but it did come true. n wat a fantastic feeling it was.

so will i miss 2007? hope not, because so many things happen in 2007. all those good memories, all those wonderful moments, all those tears being shed. so heres me wishing for a fantastic year in 2008 where hopefuly ill be celebrating the dawn of the new year wif sumbody who is dearest to my heart.

so like they say, save the best for last; again. 1408. mula2 aku x tau pun apa cite ni. tapi bila dh layan, mula lah terserlah kebestan cite ni. ia berkisar terhadap seorang penyiasat paranormal yg x percaya pada hantu ni, malah x pernah pun jumpa dgn hantu. so dia pun, telah g investigate sebuah bilik 1408(kalau tambah, total jadi 13) kat sebuah hotel ni. manager dah saun, jgn masuk, nanti konfem mampus nye. tapi dia degil gak, konon2 nk solve misteri tersebut. cuba ko bayangkan, ko diberi masa 60 minit, untuk survive dlm bilik tu, xleh kluar pun, xleh interact dgn dunia luar pun, n surrounded by 'ghostly spirits. graphically, xde pun kuar hantu tersebut, cuma shock n suspense je lebih. tapi still tekejut beruk gak ar. then habis 60 minit, ia berulang2; cara nak kuar hanyalah dgn membunuh diri. tapi mamat ni, fight back, korang mesti terkejut nye dgn tindakan yg dia ambil.

musim layan movie kembali lagi. orang suma sibuk g shoping, aku sibuk layan movie lak. 1st up, slither. cite pasal alien infestation ke atas sleepy town. rating tinggi, tapi xde best mana pun. last2 cinta adalah motif utama seseorang itu boleh bertukar menjadi jahat.

the devil wears prada lak cite pasal proving other people wrong n dont judge a book by its cover. in the end, jgn terlalu fokus sgt pasal kerjaya, u will ended up losing all that matters to u. the holiday lak cite pasal extreme makeover n bout making changes in life. bayangkan if u swap places wif someone else in a different place, culture n environment; camana agak2 rasanya? the 2 girls have the same thing in common, which is to start life anew after having their lifes shattered by the man of their dreams.

88 minutes cite thriller yg agak unpredictable gak. al pacino ada dlm movie, so gerenti best nye. hehe. cuba ko bayangkan if u were told that u r going to have 88 minutes to live, before u got killed, how wud that make ur day? hehe. so in the end, when the 88 minutes is up, dapatlah tau konspirasi di sebaliknya. shooter lak bleh tahan gak citenye. tapi very typical with other action movies. mcm dh biasa tgk je. so nothing to shout about.

like they say, save the best for last. the transformers. autobots vs decepticons. some will come to protect u, most will come to destroy u. skrang even ringtone aku pun dh tukar jadik transformers nye lagu lama. hehe. well if ur a fanboy like me, who loves the 'old' movie so much, then ur in for a surprise. x banyak persamaan antara movie or even miniseries lama dgn movie arahan michael bay ni. yg sama, optimus prime still the truck he used to be, even bumblebee pun dh jadi kete concept camaro. tapi memang grafik nye adalah world class. even the process of transforming from the vehicle state to the robot state pun very detail. aksi nye pun hebat gak. memang aku rasa the top box office movie lah tahun ni. maybe sequel pasni ada pasal unicron, the planet-eater lak. haha. mampus ar bumi camni. xleh bayangkan camana unicron nk transform lak. gile...

3 minggu tanpa bola

lol, sedar x sedar dah 3 minggu tanpa live bola. at least last year time2 mcm ni, tgh kecoh gila world cup kat jerman. skrang sangap je ar bila wiken. xde benda spesifik nk dibuat. so back to basics je lah. makan, minum, lepak, sapkok, layan movie, main game.

slamat pengantin baru diucapkan kepada seken kazen aku, hana farizah yg slamat diijabkabulkan kat umah beliau di tmn tun. n sabtu malam aritu, buat reception kat dewan perdana felda. majlis berjalan lancar, n mak aku jadi mc, mcm biasa. hujan lak x henti2 dari kul 5 ptg, sampai lah kul 4 pagi. makan sedap gila, tapi tgk ar rege nye pun, rm57 per head. hoho. dgn live band lagi. consider meriah gak ar dpt jumpa sedara mara dekat jauh. jgn hana tuntut janji aku untuk dia tgk aku kawin pasni dh lah. duit x cukup lagi...

last week jugak, selebret besday anak buah aku, genap stahun. buat low-key parti je kat umah kitorang, sambil potong2 kek, tiup2 belon. budak kecik umur stahun, bukan tau apa pun. aku pun x reti nk beli hadiah utk budak kecik ni, kalo dh besar sket, bleh lah belikan permainan ke transformers ke, hot wheels ke. haha. ada ke budak pompuan main benda2 ni suma? dia pun dh mula panjat2 ni, nmpk benda tinggi sket je, mesti nk try panjat. kang tergolek, nangis teresak-esak sapa gak yg susah.

1st of all, congrats kepada mohd zoolhelmy bin mohd yusof, kazen gua kat jb yg baru je slamat melangsungkan perkahwinan dia dgn mas farah, juga budak jb. dan itu adalah objektif utama aku blk jb dgn famili aku suma. dari ari jumaat kitorang bertolak sampai ari isnin, baru blk pj blk. ni baru 1st time this year aku grak jb. evry year aku balik, mesti ada je macam2 benda baru yg perlu diexplore / dibuat. so cite pasal weding tu dulu.

dan seperti biasa, time bertandang umah pompuan, ada lah kena 'tol' apa suma. sapa yg x familiar dgn custom orang johor, may find it a bit irritating. kat pintu pagar ada tol, kat pelamin pun kena 'tol' gak. so kena siap sedia ar duit utk bayar tol ni. abis je, bersanding apa suma, ujan pun turun. same thing ari ahad, abis je majlis ~4, ujan pun turun. ujan rahmat kot. anyway, since bapak kazen aku ni active in politician, ramailah VIP yg hadir antaranya mufti johor yg bacakan doa utk pengantin baru & datuk shahrir samad, johor jaya nye MP merangkan PAC nye ketua. dia ni lah yg slalu hentam samy vellu.

tp yg x best nye, kali ni balik, x mencapai beberapa objektif. antaranya, x dpt merasa murtabak special & otak2 gelang patah. yg paling sedih, x dpt g huamui, mana xnya, g kul 3 pagi, mmg ar kedai tu dh tutup. tp dpt ar tgk, club di mana mazidul(pengacara 999 & 360) kena tangkap, within walking distance je dari umah nenek aku. n we also found a new hotspot for malay chicks after nite kat bandar. ada minah indon & mlayu, mostly loli ar. x byk berjalan ar this year, sebab bz bangat dgn wedding ni. n mmg x cukup tdo ar sebab time malam, keje nk lepak minum teh tarik je. kul 8 dh kena bangun. tp sempat gak shoping kat metrojaya plaza pelangi sambil berkenalan dgn beberapa org promoter kat sana. haha. xpe, raya nanti kitorang shoping kat sana lagi. bundle kat larkin pun x sempat g. sedih siut.

mmg best ar dpt kumpul ramai2, even for a short period of time. yg x bestnya, tdo kat umah atuk aku ni, mmg bersepah ar. mlm ni tdo kat luar, sok tdo atas lantai. n penah gak dulu tdo dlm kete, tdo bwh kete pun penah gak sebab dlm rumah dh full sgt. even though aku lahir kat kl, tinggal & stadi suma kat selangor, tapi in my heart, aku rasa aku mmg anak johor. darah orang johor mmg byk mengalir dlm badan aku. so, until raya bulan 10 nanti, akan grak smula ke jb. long live sultan iskandar!!

wikens without football

congrats to ac milan for their triumphant CL final win over liverpool in athens. in the end, there were no miracle or fightbacks for the repeat of the 2005 final in istanbul. milan were vulnerable in the match, but liverpool seems unable to capitalise on it. so now that the game is over, there will be no football to look out for for these 2+ months ahead. n now that AF has drawn to a close, wikens will be more of a mundane affair, so it seems. as 'torrenting' is also slowing down to a crawl, my supply of movies is totally cut off. it is very terrible nowadays. in the daytime, the speed is 5-10 kbps, whereas at nite, 10-20kbps. so i had to resort to other means of entertainment. lucky there were few games which i still had, but never got the chance to play it, or been playing it in patches depending on my mood. n since i had lotsa free time, i resort to benchmarking my graphic card n also my other pc parts just for fun. also calculating how much Frames per Second my games is giving me under different conditions n settings.

so 1st off, i played flatout2. it was a pretty fun game. the motive is not that much in finishing 1st, but to do the most destruction; either to the 'racing circuit' or your opponents. u will get more opponents in 'destroying' ur opponents, than finishing 1st or having the fastest lap. other than that, it was pretty standard for racing games, like having competitions (single-player campaign), unlockables (the more you win, the more options are open for you). its like a career path. do well, n u will be rewarded well. with bigger rewards, u can buy bigger, better, nicer cars or upgrade ur existing ride. this game is quite good actually.

up next, ghost recon advanced warfighter. wow. im pretty impressed with this game, even though im not a fan of tactical squad-based shooter. in short, u control a squad of armies to achieve certain objectives set in the game. u command them where to move, where to go. they do have a mind of their own, if they sees the enemies, then they will engage. but if they die, thats it. u will have 1 less squad member to deal with enemies and that makes achieving ur goals much more challenging. it is getting tougher after each mission, and it has a very steep learning curve. even after maxxing out all the settings, im still getting ~30fps for this game. hehe. that means my pc is up to to the task, even though the system requirements for this game is quite high. now i cant wait for the sequel to make its appearance to the pc, even though the console version is already out for quite some time.

so games to look out for? starcraft 2!!! it has just been announced in korea under much funfare. it is scheduled to be released before this years' end. last i remembered playing starcraft during my schooling days. it was in form 4/5 i guess. why it took 10 years to make a sequel beats me. its a simple RTS game, but difficult to master. it has 3 factions, all having its advantages & disadvantages. n after viewing the gameplay for this game, i must say it rates quite highly and would even work on 'old' machines. it doesnt put much emphasise on having the latest tech to play it, just normal pentium 4 will do. i must say that the protoss mothership is very awesome. it p4wns joo all. lol. most units will still be in the sequel like the marines, battlecruiser, siege tank, zealot, zerglings. but most will have extra capabilities to annihilate the enemies.

we will also be having the next instalment of need for speed, fallout 3, crysis, hellgate:london, alan wake, medal of honor:airborne. with so many games to look forward to, i wonder if my rig can run it. definitely not crysis though, since its a Directx 10 game; which requires a DX10 graphic card, windows vista & all the other necessary drivers. guess im due for another upgrade in the later part of the year. heck, i was even eyeing to buy the 22' widescreen entry level lcd from dell, retailing at rm899 if you buy online. with 5 years warranty, nothing beats the bang for buck for this monster lcd.

my social avtivities is still going on like usual, except that i expect to have my salary on the 25th, but not yet. hehe. so have to postpone the shopping for a while. n i did managed to watch pirates of the caribbean 3:at worlds end at cineleisure. wat a pleasant movie it was. full of many intricate stories, lively characters, and the best part of it, lotsa jokes this time around. plus, u knowlah pirates, even though they have their own codes; but how many of them actually following it. betrayal is the norm. selling ur frens to the highest bidder is considered normal. n the fighting, n the drinking, n the woman as always. later i would love to go to 'Consoul', a xbox360 competition held at Gamers Hideout cineleisure. i had always wanted to try my hands on console gaming, but it does seems awkward playing with the controller. i still prefer mouse+keyboard combo.

n they say, pc gaming is a very expensive hobby. how true itis. u will keep on spending loads of money to keep up wif the latest games, whereas wif consoles, its like 5 years or more before they replace the technology. sumting similar like Playstation 2. even PS3 is out in the market, PS2 is still churning out games, because most users are still comfortable wif it, n doesnt see the need to upgrade just yet. so to all the gamers n 1337 alike out there, keep up wif this expensive hobby. n lets hope for a more vibrant n exciting future ahead for all of us.

world trade center, happy feet, children of men, we are marshall, chaos, eight below

back to the movies again eh? NBTD. but since torrent is being throttled, my supply of movies is slowing down. so start off with the movie, world trade center. it is a movie about the story of 2 survivors of port authority personnel on the 9/11 calamity. they were among the first to respond to the distress call, when the WTC got smashed by the planes. in their mission to evacuate the building, it collapsed. the story tells, what & how they did in order to survive the ordeal, before being rescued. quite sad actually, especially the part where they almost went asleep & imagining things.

then we move on to happy feet. for me its quite a bore to watch it until the end. its a story of a 'special' penguin, who instead of learning how to sing in order to find a mate, he tap dances for a change. and because of his uniqueness, he was kinda exiled by the elders of the penguin tribe. but there are also others who are wif him. so in the end, due to his tap dancing, it manages to unite the whole tribe and live happily wif humans paying more attention to the penguin's needs. not my cuppa tea though this story.

children of men. now this is sumting new. i have never seen anyting quite like it. it is really a 'reverse' of wat we r xperiencing now. imagine, celebrating the 'youngest' man/woman in the world. humans can no longer breed, and that is why the 'youngest' man/woman on earth is so special. this is the story of a woman who is the only woman in earth's history for the past 18 years, who is pregnant. it shows how she is so valued, like a messiah, like Miriam & Jesus, that many interested 'parties' would like to own her baby one way or the other. the government, the freedom fighters, the rebels. i really like the part where the army is attacking the building which they are hiding. very cool stuffs, and seems very real, just like u r inside the scene.

we are marshall, a story of a winning american football team who crashed landed while on their way back from a tournament. all the 1st team players, reserve team, coaches all died in the plane crash. the story depicts how the team rises from the ashes, and keep the spirit going on, no matter how deep the scars & wounds. life goes on, i guess. how they start all over again from scratch, and after a few years in the doldrums, were back to their best soon after. 'there comes a time when winning is everything, but now playing the game and keeping the spirit alive is evryting'.

chaos is another typical bank robbery kind of story. but this time the bad guy gets away wif it. i have heard before the term 'chaos theory', but im not sure the definition of it. its sumting like; when u think that everything is in chaos & everything is not in order, but in actual fact, the chaos is in order, just like 1, 2, 3, but this time in reverse, 10, 9, 8. so in the end, the actual 'bank robber' & the negotiator who was called in to broker the siege, were collaborating wif each other. another jason statham movie where he is so cool. but i like the movie 'crank' a whole lot more by the way.

eight below. based on true story of 8 snow wolves who was abandoned for 6 months in extreme cold weather without any humans around. so they had to use their animal instinct to survive. quite touching, how they hunt in packs, helping each other out, and even burying their dead friend. in the end only 6 survive, including 1 who broke her leg.

so chelsea were the worthy winners of the match at the 'new wembley'. a goal in extra time did the trick for them. after the CL final this thursday morning, then no more football for 3 months. its gonna be a long 3 months. weekend nights wont be the same again. the only thing im complaining about is that, the internet downloads are getting really slow nowadays. if i were to p2p, 5-15kbps only. but direct download ~50kbps. sharing is caring. even YM is also frequently disconnected.
